Deion Sanders has been the epicenter of a Colorado Buffaloes program that sent shockwaves across the college football landscape the past two seasons. He transformed a team that was 1-11 two years ago into a team that missed the Big 12 Championship Game on a technicality.
Sanders’ unreal success has now linked him to multiple positions, including a potential job with the Ohio State Buckeyes if things were to go sour with head coach Ryan Day.
Stephen A. Smith Makes Bold Prediction for Deion Sanders
Big Ten powerhouse Ohio State suffered a huge setback against its arch-rival, the Michigan Wolverines, in rivalry week for the fifth time. This triggered unrest among fans, asking for Day’s imminent firing.
Analysts and experts jumped in to capitalize on this rumor and came up with potential candidates. Among them, Sanders stood out on top, as Stephen A. Smith believes he is someone who can bring sizzle to the program.
Stephen A. Smith makes the case for Ohio State to hire Deion Sanders as its next head coach.
“He brings that sizzle… he pays for himself because of his popularity. It’s so huge. That’s what you’re looking for if you’re Ohio State. Ryan Day doesn’t do that for you.” pic.twitter.com/XB4XPZewF4

“I think when you have these blue-chip programs, you’re looking for sizzle. You’re not just looking, of course, you’re looking for production, ultimately, somebody that can get the job done,” Smith explained on Wednesday’s episode of First Take.
“It definitely always comes down to that, but if you can get the sizzle to be an allure and attraction that’s going to generate revenue for you, not just with the games, but just the mere mention of your name and what that brings. See, that’s where the Prime Times of the world come into play, and that’s what’s going to make him so attractive.”
“You got to remember Colorado was one of the biggest stories in college football.”
“Last year, they were 4-8. They lost six straight, seven to eight. So why? Because of him. So people are saying, ‘Excuse me if you know now that he’s proven he can coach on this level and he can win football games, if you put him in a position where you know that it really just depends on his ability to recruit.”
“And he brings that sizzle you’re thinking about, he pays for himself,'” he added.
Sanders Makes Decision About Coaching at Colorado Extremely Clear
While there have been never-ending rumors of Coach Prime leaving Boulder after Shedeur Sanders’ NFL transition, he’s stayed adamant on his previous take.
“I love Boulder, Colorado,” Sanders said while scraping all the speculation. “I have every intention, every plan in the world to be coaching for the Colorado Buffs from here on. I want to finish here. I want to put the flag. I want my name on the mountains out there. I want to put my flag down in Colorado,” he added.
Alongside Coach Prime, there have been multiple rumors of former NFL head coach Mike Vrabel being a hotshot for the Ohio State job. Vrabel’s transition from pro to college seems very unlikely, but Bill Belichick’s recent move has opened gateways for many possibilities.
