“He Needs to Grow Up”: CFB Sportscaster Rips Into Shedeur Sanders’ Behavior Following Early NFL Struggles

Shedeur Sanders received good news this week. Unlike his older brother, Shilo Sanders, who was cut from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he will remain with his team at least for the 2025 NFL season.

The Cleveland Browns traded quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, which signaled their desire to keep Sanders alongside Joe Flacco and fellow 2025 draftee Dillon Gabriel.

Fox Sports’ Gus Johnson believes this is a great development for him and that 2025 can be a year for him to learn and be a better player and person.

“He’s going to be great, just let him grow up, he needs to grow up a little. That’s what he needs. He messed himself up, all the bragging and all the trash talking and telling people what he’s going to do and what he’s not going to do. This is a great, great situation for him to be in. He’s lucky he has a guy like Joe Flacco that he can go in the room with every day. And work and learn how to be a professional,” Johnson said.

“This kid is a passer, and in Cleveland, with the weapons that they’re going to continue to, you know, establish on the team, it’s going to be great to see the Browns when he finally gets his opportunity. It might not come this year or next year, but eventually I think it will come,” he added.

It’s not job done yet for the former Colorado quarterback, however. He’s currently QB3 in the Cleveland Browns’ depth chart.

Deion Sanders names Kaidon Salter as Shedeur Sanders’ successor at Colorado

This week, Deion Sanders named Shedeur Sanders’ successor as a quarterback at Colorado. The chosen one is Liberty Flames’ transfer Kaidon Salter. He was in a quarterback battle with former four-star recruit and freshman Julian Lewis, although fans long expected Salter to edge him out based on his experience.

Salter spent four seasons with the Flames, the last two as a starter. In that period, he recorded a total of 5889 passing yards, with 56 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions. He has also recorded an impressive 2006 rushing yards, with 21 touchdowns in 351 carries. This is one department in which he outperforms Shedeur Sanders.

In 2023, he was the C-USA MVP and the C-USA championship game MVP.
