With the season about one-third of the way complete, EA Sports College Football 25 released its first of several planned player ratings updates. Among those whose stock rose are the dynamic pass rushers of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
After a blistering start to the season, Kyle Kennard and Dylan Stewart were rewarded with significant ratings boosts as part of sweeping edits by the College Football 25 developers.
Dylan Stewart, Kyle Kennard’s Bumps Highlight Over 20 South Carolina Player Ratings Adjustments
South Carolina fans knew they had a fearsome edge duo on the roster, but not even they could have predicted how effective the combination of the freshman Stewart and graduate transfer Kennard would be.
Kennard only has 10 tackles this season, but he’s made the most of them, racking up 5.5 sacks in four games, good for a tie for fourth in the country. He’s also forced two fumbles and has multiple pressures that have led to interceptions.
Unfortunately for opposing offenses, they can’t simply slide protection his way because the freshman on the other side has been just as impressive.
Stewart has three sacks and is second among true freshmen with 11 pressures. He’s also played one fewer game than leader Colin Simmons, who has 13. Stewart has already beaten double and triple-teams and, like Kennard, has two forced fumbles in four games.
Accordingly, EA Sports kept Kennard and Stewart in mind while updating South Carolina’s roster. Stewart moved up nine points overall, going from a 78 overall in the game to an 87 rating, the largest jump of any edge rusher in college football. Kennard joined his fellow edge rusher, moving from an 84 overall to an 87 in the player ratings update.
Other South Carolina Player Ratings Updates in College Football 25
Stewart and Kennard weren’t the only Gamecocks to see their ratings change, as over 20 South Carolina players were updated this week.
The headliner is probably a slight drop for one of the gamers’ favorite players, as sophomore receiver Nyck Harbor dropped four points to 78 overall. Harbor is known for his 99 speed and acceleration, which make him one of the best deep threats in the game. However, he hasn’t really contributed much on offense so far, and that’s reflected in his rating drop.

The receiver who has moved up is true freshman Mazeo Bennett, who has been the Gamecocks’ leading receiver this year. Many fans are unsurprised by his positive start, but apparently, his early success surprised the game-makers as he was originally given a 64 overall rating.
Bennett jumped to an 80 overall, the second-largest rating boost of any player in the game.
South Carolina’s star running back and star defensive back also saw slight upticks to their ratings, as Raheim Sanders and Nick Emmanwori each moved up to an 89 overall as the highest-rated players on the team.
