Year After Baby Snow’s Arrival, Coach Prime’s Daughter Gets 100% Real On Personal Struggles

Coach Prime’s grandson, Snow, turned one year old last week. Deiondra Sanders’ toddler shares his birthday date with his famous Hall of Fame grandfather, August 9. Snow is Deiondra’s first kid and Deion Sanders’ first grandson.

During an interview this Thursday on Reginae Carter’s YouTube channel, Deiondra opened up about what the experience has taught her over the last year.

“My son has taught me patience cuz it’s like you literally have no choice. And I’ve always been prone to migraines. When I have a migraine, it doesn’t stop. Before, I would have to put all the lights out, no sound, no nothing. Now it’s like no matter how bad my migraine is hurting, I have to be there for him,” she said (2:26).

Being a mother is famously a never-ending job. However, Deiondra Sanders also spoke about the need to prioritize herself, something she says she hasn’t been able to do as much as she would’ve wanted to.

“I feel like I haven’t really shown up for myself lately. I feel like right now, I’m just being a mom cuz me myself, what I’ve been going through, what I’ve went through, what I’m dealing with, I can’t really deal with that while I’m his mother. So, I feel like I haven’t really been showing up for myself lately,” she added (3:40).

Coach Prime on Colorado’s goal for the 2025 season

During the Boulder Chamber Kickoff Luncheon at the Buffaloes’ Ford Practice Facility on Friday, Coach Prime set a clear objective for his team in the 2025 season: Win a bowl game.

Deion Sanders famously promised centenarian Buffaloes fan Peggy Coppom to take the school to a bowl game in 2024. He now wants to go a step further.

“I hate sharing goals and thoughts and visions, because that’s really between me and God, but last year, the goal was to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game,” Sanders said. “That was the goal, and we did that. Now, when I’m talking to God, he told me I’ve got to be more specific. So this year, we want to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game and win.”

A bowl win would be a huge achievement for the program. Colorado’s last bowl victory was more than two decades ago, when it won the 2004 Houston Bowl under Gary Barnett’s leadership. Since then, six coaches have taken charge of the Buffaloes with five bowl losses.
