QB1 Kevin Jennings has so far been very consistent for the 2-1 SMU Mustangs, even during their 48-45 double overtime loss against Baylor. He has already thrown for 836 yards for the 2025 season, with 88 attempts and 62 completions. He was also impressive against Baylor, throwing for 295 yards, which led to three touchdowns.
Wide receiver Romello Brinson and running back TJ Harden would be his two major targets, with Harden scoring five touchdowns this season already, rushing for 253 yards on 42 carries. Meanwhile, Brinson leads the team in receiving yards at 314 on 15 receptions, with him scoring three touchdowns.
For TCU, Josh Hoover has also been very impressive, as he has already accumulated 621 passing yards in two games, with 63 attempts and 48 completions. However, the one to watch should be linebacker Namdi Obiazor, as the defensive specialist has been impressive with 12 tackles and one sack so far across two games.
Running back Kevorian Barnes leads TCU in rushing yards at 156 on 21 carries and will certainly be one to watch, while Jordan Dwyer is the one leading the Horned Frogs in receiving yards at 225 on 14 receptions and has two touchdowns.

Both teams are coming into Saturday’s game red-hot, with SMU’s double overtime loss to Baylor not slowing down its momentum. That being said, which team actually has a better chance of winning? According to BetMGM Sportsbook, it is TCU.
The Horned Frogs are the (-7) spread favorites coming into the game, with the moneyline being (-250) for TCU and (+203) for SMU. The total for this is 64.5 points.
