“Also Thought Manziel Was Good”: Fans Slam Skip Bayless Over Bold Shedeur Sanders Claims Amid Browns’ 2–5 Season in 2025

Shedeur Sanders’ NFL journey has not been what he would’ve expected it to be so far, from dropping to the 5th round and getting picked as the 144th overall pick to not getting a chance to play even once in 7 weeks.

Many fans and analysts believe that the Brows should give Shedeur Sanders a chance and let him take the spotlight as the QB1 instead of ex Oregon star Dillon Gabriel.

One of those analysts is Skip Bayless, who wrote a statement on X about how he believes if Shedeur Sanders along with the current Browns defense and Quinshon Judkin’s form, started from the start of the season, the franchise could’ve been seen as the Vanderbilt of the North.

“Shedeur was sacked 42 times by college level defenses that weren’t even power 4 schools. Sure he didn’t have an NFL life, but the Browns have a terrible line…..and he got sacked 5 times in a very brief preseason series. He would get demolished weekly if he started.” one fan disgareed with Bayless.

“They’d be 7-0. The receivers wouldn’t have dropped a single pass. Shedeur would have never lost more than 5 yards on a sack. They would have prevented the government shutdown, turned goat piss into gasoline and ended the war in Ukraine.” another fan sarcastically added.

“remember when you said the exact same thing about the Browns and Johnny Manziel?.” another fan questioned.

“So simply starting Sanders would make the OL instantly better, the receiver corps would become better and Shedeur would cook NFL defenses like the bottom 40 teams (pass yd allowed) he routinely played at CO? Good stuff man..” another fan added.

“You also thought Manziel was good..” another fan reminded Bayless.

“Shedeur is Skip’s new Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow lmao.” another fan noted.

Mary Kay Cabot Offers Insight on Shedeur Sanders Future at Cleveland

Talking about how things would look like if Shedeur Sanders was given the green light to play as the Browns’ QB1, Mary Kay Cabot questioned whether it would be too different from how things are for Dillon Gabriel.

Cabot highlighted the many issues the unit has currently that would probably be just as tough for Shedeur Sanders as it’s been for Gabriel and as it was for Joe Flacco.

The Brows insider shared that the one area she believes Shedeur will be better than Gabriel is “accuracy.”

Cabot shared that irrespective of which one of the rookies has the steering wheel, it’s a turbulent cockpit for the both of them right now.
