Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was rocking a flashy chain on NFL Draft night.
Before the Colorado star’s slide to No. 144 last week, he unveiled a diamond-encrusted “$2 LEGENDARY” chain worth more than $100,000, over a tenth of the maximum rookie salary for the No. 144 pick ($951,638).

Fans Clash Over Shedeur Sanders’ $100K Chain and Flashy Draft Night Swagger
In a social-media video, Sanders received the piece from his jeweler for the first time.
“That’s insane, bro,” an off-camera voice said. “My brother Shedeur told me he wanted a new piece, a chain that nobody had, and he wanted the ‘legendary’ charm. We designed something for him—hopefully he’s going to like it, ’cause he hasn’t seen it yet.”

“Oh my God,” Sanders replied. “You hear that? Don’t sound cheap. This is ridiculous.”
Social-media users were quick to criticize.

“He makes it incredible easy for people to support his draft stock falling—drafted 144th, has done absolutely nothing, and wants to walk around with this on his neck, lmao,” tweeted one user.
Others indicated Sanders’ place on the depth chart.

“Who cares, for real—is that chain going to get him the starting job? Another reason he dropped: he doesn’t care about his character. He should be worried about putting in work and meeting new teammates. He’s a fifth-string QB on the Browns, let’s be real,” another user wrote.

“As a fifth-round pick, he’s going to make just over $1 million a year. He just spent almost 10% of his salary on that chain,” noted another.
