As we inch further from football season and closer to the NFL Draft, there are some big events on the calendar. And no event is watched or attended by more scouts, GMS, and coaches than the NFL Combine. Being snubbed from the Combine can seriously hurt your draft stock, and that’s what happened to former Colorado Buffaloes DB Shilo Sanders.

Shilo Sanders Leads List of Combine Snubs
Every year, around 300 NFL Draft prospects receive an invite to perform and test at the Combine, which is a vital opportunity to show the NFL what you can do.
Sanders, who is the son of Deion Sanders and brother of Shedeur Sanders, did not receive an invite to the NFL Combine.
Shilo was a two-year college football starter at Colorado, playing safety throughout his career. While he isn’t expected to be a high draft pick, many thought he’d still be invited to the Combine.
Sanders had 170 total tackles throughout his career, along with one interception. He has relatively low draft hype compared to his brother and now has to wait until Colorado’s Pro Day to show what he can do.
Sanders wasn’t the only Combine snub, however, as many players who played in both the Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl a couple of weeks ago will not be participating in the NFL Combine either.
Ryan Fowler, who works for the Draft Network, listed out many of the notable players who did not receive a Combine invite in the X post below:
NFL Combine snubs:
• Notre Dame ED RJ Oben
• Memphis LB Chandler Martin
• EWU WR Efton Chism III (Shrine)
• NDSU QB Cam Miller (Shrine)
• Minnesota ED Danny Striggow (Hula & Senior Bowl)
• UNC OL Willie Lampkin (Senior)
• Auburn TE Rivaldo Fairweather (Shrine)
• Pitt LB…— Ryan Fowler (@_RyanFowler_) February 13, 2025
For many of these athletes, missing the Combine hurts them significantly. Most of the players not invited to the NFL Combine have a low draft stock to begin with, and if they don’t have an opportunity to perform at the Combine, their chances of making it to the league get slimmer.
