Amid Roster Cut Rumors, Analyst Minces No Words While Criticising Shilo Sanders’ Steelers Performance in Preseason Game 2

Deion Sanders’ son, Shilo Sanders, did not start his NFL journey on an ideal note. After going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, the ex-Colorado safety signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, ever since Shilo stepped foot into Tampa, he has been winning hearts with his charismatic personality as well as his hard-working demeanor on the field.

After showcasing his skills in the Bucs rookie camp and later during the training camp, Shilo got the opportunity to make a place for himself in the 53-man roster with Todd Bowles’ franchise.

While Shilo Sanders made his presence felt in the first game, the same wasn’t the case during the preseason game 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. He recorded two tackles and missed two, as the Buccaneers won 17-14.

Naming Shilo one of the five “losers” after the Steelers showdown, Bucs writer J.T. Olson wrote:

“Earlier today it was reported that undrafted rookie safety JJ Roberts would go on injured reserve and be out for the year. This was a crushing blow for a young player that has done nothing but impress and was all but a lock to make the 53 man roster. However, his loss was an opportunity for another safety.

“Shilo Sanders looked solid last week against the Tennessee Titans. He made the plays that were there to be made and was typically in the right position. That was not the case tonight.”

As per Olson, Sanders missed out on a golden chance to seize the moment, and produced a disappointing performance.

Shilo Sanders Reveals Why He Chose Mom Instead of Deion Sanders for Special Gift

After Shilo Sanders impressed the fans with his performance during game 1, the ex Colorado safety was asked if he will be sending his first NFL jersey to his dad, Deion Sanders.

Shilo shared that he would be gifting the jersey to his mom instead of his dad since Coach Prime is a Hall of Famer, who would expect a lot more from his son.

Shilo kept his promise and shared a video of him gifting his mom his first NFL jersey, while also giving her a shoutout for attending both his and Shedeur Sanders’ games.
