While Shedeur Sanders’ debut robbed the spotlight during the weekend, Shilo Sanders also had a successful first outing in the NFL. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Tennessee Titans on Saturday, with a comfortable 29-7 score. In the process, the former Colorado safety saw some action and recorded one tackle.
Pilar Sanders was there to celebrate her sons’ debut with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa, Florida. What makes this amazing is that barely 24 hours before, Pilar was in Charlotte, North Carolina, to see her other son, Shedeur, make his NFL debut with the Cleveland Browns.
To celebrate the loyalty of his mom, Shilo Sanders gave a special gift: the Buccaneers jersey he wore in his first NFL game. The moment was shared through an Instagram reel by the Buccaneers and the NFL:
“Hey ya’ll. Just played my first NFL game, you know what I’m saying? Official. First game in the books. Shout out to my mom for coming; she went all the way to North Carolina for Shedeur’s game and then went to my game. So, you have my jersey. This is for you… It’s dirty.”

Shilo also added a recommendation to his mom. Do not wash the shirt, so it keeps its original collector’s value.

Deion Sanders didn’t want Shilo Sanders’ Tampa Bay Buccaneers debut jersey
It seems that while Pilar Sanders wanted her son’s jersey, there was one person who wasn’t interested: Deion Sanders. Right after the game, the Buccaneers’ safety was asked if he would give his jersey to his father. His reply made it clear that his dad expected something bigger:
“Cause you know, he’s a Hall of Famer. He expects like 30 times more,” Shilo said (laughs). “He didn’t want my jersey. I’m gonna give it to my mom, though.”
“I gotta get like three picks or something for him to want that,” he added.
Shilo Sanders joked that he’s not gifting his first NFL jersey to his dad on his birthday because “he doesn’t want it (laughs). You know he’s a Hall of Famer. He expects like 30 times more. I’m gonna give it to my mom though. … I gotta get like three picks for him to want it.” pic.twitter.com/k0jEB6fUGH

Understandably, a Hall of Famer would want something bigger from his son. Nonetheless, that’s still on the horizon. The first task hasn’t been fulfilled. Shilo needs to get himself a serious role in the roster for 2025.
