Sherrone Moore’s stint in charge of the Michigan Wolverines came to an abrupt end on Wednesday, as the head coach was disgracefully fired amid reports of an inappropriate relationship with a staffer. This was rounded up by his detention by local police on charges of assault.
This embarrassing situation will surely have a huge repercussion on the Michigan Wolverines’ prospects in the near future. One of the aspects of the program that could suffer is the recruitment game.

Already, four-star recruit Andre Clarke has voiced his worries about Sherrone Moore’s firing, putting into doubt his decision to join the program:
“Time will tell on what I’ll be doing because coach Moore and staff were a huge reason for my commitment.”
Clarke is a four-star recruit out of Richmond, Virginia, who is considered the eighth-best prospect in his state and the 30th-best cornerback in the class of 2026. He turned down offers by Duke, Kentucky, SMU, and Colorado to commit to the Wolverines.

What Did Sherrone Moore Do?
There are not many details about what Sherrone Moore did, but the University of Michigan did release the following statement about the situation:
“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately. Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”
Pittsfield Police released its own statement, explaining that, given the ongoing nature of the criminal investigation, it couldn’t offer many details beyond the fact that he was being investigated for assault. However, while the incident didn’t appear to be random in nature, they didn’t think there was an ongoing threat.
