It seems like the Pittfield Township Police Department responded to a reported assault, and when they arrived, Sherrone Moore was there, unarmed. They described Moore’s entry into the residency as follows:
“…entered the residence through an unlocked door without permission and engaged in a verbal argument with the victim that escalated.”
They added further detail that he grabbed a couple of butter knives and a pair of scissors to threaten to harm himself, according to the victim’s recollection of events. He was charged with “Home invasion in the third degree,” “Stalking,” and “Breaking and entering, or entering without breaking”. He faces up to six years in jail.
Home invasion is a felony charge, and stalking and breaking and entering are misdemeanors. Following the detention at the victim’s home, Sherrone Moore was initially taken to a hospital for a full evaluation and was then moved to Washtenaw County Jail.
