Deion Sanders is currently in the middle of a recovery for an unknown health issue, which has taken him away from the Colorado Buffaloes for most of June. Over the last few weeks, he has updated fans on his progress through his Instagram account, claiming he’s ever closer to rejoining the program.
Regardless of his health status, Sanders seems to remain active on social media. His youngest daughter, Shelomi Sanders, shared a photograph of her new pair of sneakers, which was reposted by Coach Prime.
“been waiting on these,” wrote Shelomi Sanders on the photo of her new Nike trainers.
The sneakers are white, with maroon (Or crimson, depending on the eye of the beholder) stripes. The colorway seems to be inspired by the colors of Shelomi’s school, Alabama A&M, which sports a maroon similar to that used by the Texas A&M Aggies.
Deion Sanders offers update on his health recovery
While he hasn’t specified what has forced him to go into recovery, Deion Sanders has offered a recent update on ‘Say What Needs To Be Said’:
“I’ve done no media. I’ve done nothing for a minute. So coming on with you is something.
“I ain’t been in front of nobody for a minute. I lost about 14 pounds. I’m coming back, but I needed this.”
Sanders also seems to have been using the extra time to brush up on his football tactics, or at least to watch old football films. The 57-year-old stated in the interview that he has always been an advocate of reviewing film minutely.
“I watched film right up till kickoff man,” Coach Prime added, of his devotion to studying his rivals. “I have a library of VHS tapes man.”
He added:
“There’s this iconic picture of me sitting in the locker room before the Super Bowl and I’m sitting up there with some dollar sign drawers. Those were my lucky drawers.
“And I’m looking at the VHS tape of my opponent. I studied so much bro, I knew everything about them Cats. I knew them like the back of my hand.”
Deion Sanders has also offered updates through his Instagram account, with posts showing him doing recovery exercises on a tactical vest.
It also seems like his eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., has been of great help to him during his recovery, as he has constantly appeared on posts during Coach Prime’s recovery. Notably, one of those posts saw Deion Sanders thanking him for his support.
