Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel attended the wedding of Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Brown over the weekend. They both played together in the 2024 season at Oregon, where they helped the Ducks win their first-ever Big Ten championship.
Gabriel congratulated the newlywed, posting a carousel of photos of the event, which were accompanied by the following caption on Instagram:
“To the Fergusons! ❤️ Everything about it was beautiful. It’s crazy how close we all got in just a year. What a time. Papa Ferg was absolutely killing it. The speech to the dance moves, unreal. Elevates everyone’s game. To Cheeto, Mai Mai, and Phillip, till next time. As always, more life, more every tinggg.”

Ferguson married his long-time girlfriend, and high school sweetheart, Sophia Meyer, at Spruce Mountain in Larkspur, Colorado. Besides Dillon Gabriel, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Patrick Herbert, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, and former Oregon Duck quarterback Ty Thompson were also in attendance.
Notably, Gabriel was the first quarterback picked by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft, being the 94th overall pick in the third round. However, he wasn’t the only one, as the Browns chose to pick Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round with the 144th pick.

Dillon Gabriel praised by teammate ahead of 2025 NFL season
Dillon Gabriel is in an awkward place, as even though he was the first quarterback picked by the Cleveland Browns, the spotlight ended up being on Deion Sanders’ son. All that was left for Gabriel was to speak through his game in the preseason football camps.
Reports from the Browns’ training camp are that he’s doing just that. In a recent appearance on the “Honor The Land” podcast, undrafted free agent wide receiver Luke Floriea had this to say of the signal-caller:
“He’s a ball guy through and through. He loves football. You can tell how seriously he takes it. He’s never not studying the playbook. That gives you confidence as a receiver because he’s gonna go in there and put you in the right spot [and] not put you in harm’s way.”
“He’s never not studying the playbook… that gives you confidence as a receiver because he’s gonna go in there and put you in the right spot,” he added.
Dillon Gabriel is still in a difficult spot, having not only to compete with Shedeur Sanders but with veterans Joe Flacco and DeShaun Watson. General wisdom in the NFL is that Watson is no longer seen as a long-term option by the Browns leadership, and that the 2025 starter will likely be Super Bowl champion Flacco.
However, Joe Flacco is no long-term solution for the franchise either. The future of the franchise is probably down to the battle between Gabriel and Sanders.
