Months After Drafting Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Analyst Claims Browns Owner Has ‘Thirst’ for Arch Manning

Despite already getting two of the top quarterbacks from this year’s NFL draft in Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is already looking for who will replace them next year. This is what analyst Tom Rizzo thinks, as he revealed during his appearance on ESPN Cleveland Radio.

Cleveland has one of the most interesting quarterback situations this year, as all four of their quarterbacks are viable options. They are Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders, However, Rizzo suggested that Haslam has been eyeing up Texas quarterback Arch Manning, a Heisman frontrunner who is possibly one of the top names in the 2026 NFL draft.

“I know it’s nothing that they want to talk about, but the thirst that Jimmy Haslam has for Arch Manning is unmatched,” Rizzo revealed. “Haslam has donated a ton of money to Tennessee; they have a relationship with the Manning family. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they acquired a second-round pick next year.”

Rizzo also noted that Cleveland, a team that has a history of quarterback disappointments, is trying to get as many good quarterbacks as possible. However, as this is happening, Gabriel and Sanders still have a lot to prove with the Browns, as both have the potential to be “the one” for Cleveland.

As of the moment, both Sanders and Gabriel are in the Browns training camp, with both of them eyeing the starting quarterback spot. They would have to compete against two wily veterans in Flacco and Pickett, however.

Shedeur Sanders Already Has Former NFL Player Impressed As QB1 Race Heats Up

All four of the Browns’ active quarterbacks are already practicing together at the Cleveland training camp, though many believe that it is either Flacco or Pickett who will get the starting position nod eventually. However, many believe this might only be temporary as Shedeur Sanders has been impressing many there already.

“If the football part follows like I think it will, we’ve got something in Cleveland,” former NFL receiver Cecil Shorts said, discussing Sanders. “We’ve got something special brewing. Like big time.”

Sanders was picked in the fifth round, and quarterbacks picked in that spot rarely start, especially as rookies. However, various reports have indicated that he has been performing ahead of Dillon Gabriel, who was selected 50 picks before Sanders. This means that there is a chance for the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders to get that starter nod, if not at the start, then later in the season.
