Arch Manning’s highly anticipated season debut ended in a disaster. The Texas Longhorns lost 7-14 against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Manning finished with just one touchdown on 170 yards, and that, too, was a controversial decision.
Amid the barrage of criticism that Manning is facing for his performance, many notable people have come out in support. Recently, Shedeur Sanders’ father, Deion Sanders, gave some unfiltered advice to the young quarterback.
Coach Prime has been in this situation before in various capacities. He was once a young football player himself, and then he experienced similar pressure with his son in college football. So, there’s no better voice to offer advice to Manning.
“[Just] be you,” Coach Prime told Reporter Romi Bean in a chat. “Don’t placate to others, be you, and be the best you that you could possibly be. Quit trying to be whatever it is for them. And not that he’s doing that, but that’s what I told my sons. That’s what I tell my team. That’s what I tell everybody.”
Arch Manning’s hype is unreal. So I went to the man who knows hype better than anyone: Coach Prime.
His advice?

Sanders said that right now, Manning would have a lot of people telling him how to navigate through this pressure. However, most of them have never been in that situation themselves. So, as per Coach Prime, the best thing Manning can do is be his true, authentic self.
There are several reasons why Manning is under so much pressure right now, and coming from a celebrated family is one of them. More importantly, he received his starting quarterback nod for the season, and that made him an even bigger target in the media and among fans.
In addition to that, he is a part of a very strong team, a team that was considered unbeatable only weeks ago. Despite the criticism, it was only the first game of the season, and Manning will have several more chances to prove himself.

Tom Brady Showed His Support For Arch Manning
Over the years, a lot of people have stated that the pressure on Manning feels unfair. But it is an unavoidable circumstance when he comes from such an esteemed family. After his recent loss against Ohio, Tom Brady had some encouraging words for the QB.
During a conversation with Cris Collinsworth, Brady said that he understands the weight of a loss when you’re expected to be the hero. His advice for Manning was to look for positives in the loss, take his lessons, and move on.
“Even though he didn’t have his best game today and they lost, if he uses this to his advantage, Arch, he’s going to be tougher for it and he’s going to have a better next game because of it,” Brady said. (39:26)
Just like Coach Prime, Brady has been the biggest name on the field in his time. If he is asking Manning to use this situation to his advantage, it must be something that worked for him when he dominated the NFL.
