Amid Shedeur Sanders’ Struggles With Cleveland, Analyst Points Fingers at Lack Of Development Under Coach Prime’s Colorado

Former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders may have impressed many during his debut game for the Cleveland Browns, but the holes in his game started to show during the preseason finale against the LA Rams. This struggle against the Rams had revived the talk that he did indeed deserve that slide to being a fifth-round pick.

During ESPN’s “Get Up” program, analyst Dan Orlovsky revealed his take on Shedeur’s struggles against the Rams, and he noted that these problems with his game were the same problems he had been having since his college days over at Boulder.

“That the bad habits and some of the traits that we saw that showed up in college were very prevalent this past weekend against the rams; holding on to the football, catching the snap and not reading the defense, kinda evaluating what the defensive line is doing, and then trying to see if you’re going to make a play, that’s a concern,” he said.

However, despite Shedeur Sanders committing many mistakes against the Rams, Orlovsky did add that this is not the end of the world for the QB, as he is still a rookie and may still develop into a starting quarterback in the NFL.

“So, some of those things that I was, and others were concerned about, on the college game showed itself again. This is not the end of the world though. This is part of his development in becoming a potential starting quarterback,” he pointed out.

It was a devastating outing for Sanders who got sacked five times on 11 dropbacks, with Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski being forced to pull the QB during the last two minutes of the game.

Shedeur Sanders Still Expected to Make Cleveland Browns Final Roster Despite Poor Performance Vs. LA Rams

With his brother, Shilo Sanders, already getting cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this raises the question of whether Shedeur Sanders will also be facing free agency. He is currently fourth on the QB depth chart for the team and is coming off a bad game.

Despite this, many are expecting him to make the final 53-man roster. The team will still be cutting other players, but he is expected to make it. As Orlovsky noted in the video, he is still developing and still has plenty of time to work on those bad habits he has. This comes in as Sanders has proven to be a popular player among fans.
