Kaylee Mansell Questions Arch Manning’s Heisman Expectations Despite Limited Experience

During another episode of “That SEC Podcast”, Kaylee Mansell stressed that Texas has a lot of climbing yet to do, and the team has a more challenging schedule than last season.

“They’ve got some tough games to play, tougher than last year, that’s for sure, with the way that their road schedule is,” she observed. (16:12)

The analyst also felt for Arch Manning and the amount of pressure he has to deal with. Mansell said, recognizing that there is an added layer of weight to carry from owning such a recognizable name in college football.

“I hope that he goes out there and lives up to the expectation that everyone’s placed on him because even though he’s a Manning, like, that’s a lot of pressure to deal with.” (16:03)

For the entire 2024 season, the freshman quarterback appeared in 10 games but only started in 2. The 2024 season for Arch Manning saw him finish with 61-of-90 passes which resulted in 939 yards and 9 touchdowns (2 interceptions).

Manning’s completion percentage was 67.8% and his quarterback rating was 184.0- not bad stats for such a limited opportunity.

Arch Manning’s rushing number adds another perspective to his dual-threat position. His rushing numbers are as follows: 108 yards on 25 attempts for an average of 4.3 yards per carry included his long run of 67 yards for a touchdown – the longest scoring rush by a Texas quarterback since Vince Young in 2005. It certainly showcased a small glimpse as to the potential impact Manning could have as a dual threat quarterback.
