Seattle Seahawks Could Add Wall of a Guard Who’s Allowed Just 1 Sack

Tyler Booker established himself as one of college football’s top interior linemen, allowing just one sack across more than 1,000 snaps in three seasons at Alabama. The 6’5″, 325-pound guard, a former four-star recruit from IMG Academy, secured a starting role in 2023 and earned back-to-back first-team All-SEC honors.

In 2024, he played 715 snaps without allowing a sack, showcasing his technical precision and power while serving as a team captain and key leader on Alabama’s offensive line.

Will Tyler Booker Land in Seattle?

Mike Tannenbaum’s latest 2025 NFL mock draft, released March 25, projects Alabama guard Booker to the Seattle Seahawks at No. 18 overall. The move could be crucial following quarterback Sam Darnold’s three-year, $100.5 million signing.

Booker, who allowed just one sack in more than 1,000 college snaps, would help solidify an offensive line that ranked 21st in pass block win rate (58.5%) last season.

With his size, strength, technique, and leadership as a team captain could provide stability at left guard, giving Darnold the protection he thrived with during his 2024 Pro Bowl season in Minnesota. With Seattle’s offense adjusting to key departures, Booker’s presence in the trenches could play a vital role in maximizing the team’s investment at quarterback.

“I like his strong base in pass protection, and he plays with confidence and great technique,” Tannenbaum said, calling Booker an ideal fit for a team rebuilding its offense.

Good technique is key for NFL linemen because it helps them handle the speed, power, and skill of top pass rushers like Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett, who take advantage of even the smallest mistakes.

Booker’s solid footwork and hand placement—developed at Alabama—help him stay balanced and in control, which is crucial against today’s fast and smart edge rushers.

Booker’s combination of size, skill, and experience makes him one of the most NFL-ready linemen in this year’s draft class. His ability to anchor the interior and protect the quarterback could make an immediate impact on any team that selects him.

If Seattle does pick him at No. 18, he could be a key piece in strengthening their offensive line and helping Darnold find success in his new role.
