‘Don’t Be a Sh*tty Alcoholic Coach’: CFB Fans Diss Scott Frost for Alleged Drinking After Blunt Nebraska Comments

Scott Frost recently took over as the head coach of the UCF Knights. Last season, he served as a senior analyst for the Los Angeles Rams after taking two years off from coaching. His most recent stint as a college football coach came as the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2018 to 2022.

On Tuesday, when speaking to the media, Frost was asked about what he learned from his time at Nebraska. He was blunt in his response, saying that the biggest lesson was not to take the wrong job.

This led to a big reaction from college football fans, including many who called him out on X for his poor behavior with the Cornhuskers. Many even referenced his rumored problems with alcohol.

“Don’t be a sh*tty alcoholic coach,” one fan wrote.

“Or don’t take a job and spend more time (allegedly) drinking than you do working,” one fan commented.

“Yeah, don’t go to a job where they have bars and Golden Tee (and other things). Just too tempting for some coaches, hard to focus on the little things like winning,” one fan added.

Fans continued to react in the comments.

“No matter how he feels about his time at Nebraska, it’s poor form to throw his alma mater under the bus publicly. He should take more ownership of his actions and outcomes and not say “it was the wrong job”. That is a cop out answer,” one fan wrote.

“Such a strange statement. Whether Nebraska could win a natty was sort of dependent on … him? I don’t understand his passive tone here,” one fan commented.

“Should read, “Don’t suck at the right job,”” one fan added.

Scott Frost Is Starting His Second Stint with the UCF Knights

Scott Frost is set to start his second stint as the head coach of the UCF Knights this coming season. Before Frost was hired by the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2018, he led the Knights for two seasons in 2016 and 2017. He held a 19-7 overall record, while leading the Knights to a national championship in 2017.

However, Scott Frost left the team for Nebraska, which did not work out for him. In four full seasons before he was fired, Frost posted a dismal 16-31 record. He will look to get back to his winning ways now that he is back with the Knights.
