Heading into the 2025 season for the Texas Longhorns, the on-field chemistry between quarterback Arch Manning and wide receiver Ryan Wingo will be important. Wingo is coming off a strong freshman season where he made 29 receptions for 472 yards and two TDs. Manning is heading into his first season as the starter after serving as the backup behind Quinn Ewers for the past two years.
A good start to chemistry on the field comes from a strong bond off of it. On Thursday, Wingo sat down for a media availability and spoke about his relationship with Arch Manning and how it has continued to grow during their time together.
“Yeah, I feel like me coming in, our bond’s good,” Ryan Wingo said. “He came to my camp, so it increased from there because we were down there together. So, we still talk about life and stuff like that. We have fall camp and we’re together all day, it keeps increasing as time goes.”

Ryan Wingo Explains Whether He Is Motivated To Join the Conversation as One of the Top Wide Receivers in His Class
The 2024 recruiting class had a strong group of wide receivers, including Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, who helped the Buckeyes win the national championship this past season. Alabama’s Ryan Williams and Auburn’s Cam Coleman also looked like two of the best receivers in the nation as freshmen. Coming from the same class, Wingo has the opportunity to join that group this season with a strong performance.
When asked about other receivers in his class this week, he gave a blunt response that shows where his mindset is at.
“Eh, I think I’m just focused on my own lane right now,” Wingo said. “I’m not really worried about no outside receivers. I’m just focused on Texas, and we’ve got a big game for game one, so I’ll just let reporters and stuff talk about that and I’mma just focus on the game.”
One of the things going for Wingo is that he will be receiving passes from one of the projected top QBs in the nation, Arch Manning. If Manning lives up to the hype, there is a good chance that Wingo will be a beneficiary.
