Heading into the season, wide receiver Ryan Wingo was expected to be one of the top options for quarterback Arch Manning. However, in the first game of the season, he only made two receptions for 35 yards. Fans were hoping he would improve in Week 2 against San Jose State, but he struggled early.

Ryan Wingo Was Outplayed by Two Receivers Early in the Texas vs. San Jose State Game
While Ryan Wingo was projected to be a top receiving threat for the Longhorns, that was not the case in the first half against San Jose State. Halfway through the second quarter, the Longhorns were leading 28-7. Arch Manning had completed four TD passes.
Two of them were to Parker Livingstone, including an 83-yard pass. The other two were to Jack Endries. Meanwhile, Wingo had only made two receptions for 14 yards at that time.
