Texas Longhorns wide receiver Ryan Wingo is a key member of the team’s offense. He is one of the top offensive weapons for quarterback Arch Manning and has been great this season. Unfortunately for the Longhorns, Wingo suffered an injury early in the game against Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Wingo caught a screen pass in the first quarter, helping the Longhorns secure a first down. However, immediately after the play, he left the field. Video replay showed a quick video of his hand, which seemed to indicate that Wingo injured his thumb.
Wingo already made an impact on the game before going down with an injury. On the team’s first play of their first drive of the game, Wingo caught a lateral pass from Arch Manning. He then juked a couple of defenders before running 75 yards down the field for a TD.

Ryan Wingo Is Not the Only Texas Player to Suffer an Injury Against Vanderbilt
Ryan Wingo was the first Texas player to suffer an injury against Vanderbilt, but he was not the last. DB Jelani McDonald also left the game in the first quarter.
“While QB Arch Manning is back on the field and playing, Texas is down WR Ryan Wingo and DB Jelani McDonald who both left the game in the 1Q and walked to the locker room. Still, Texas leads 17-0 after 1Q.”

It was unclear to spectators exactly what happened to Jelani McDonald. He walked over to the bench in pain after a play. He then went to the locker room shortly after and did not return.
Arch Manning appears to be fully healthy after suffering a concussion last week. While it is still early in the game, he is putting together one of his best performances of the season.
