During the upset loss to Florida State last week, star wide receiver Ryan Williams slammed his head on the field after a missed catch.
Williams reportedly suffered a concussion and is undergoing concussion protocol and is set to miss the game against UL Monroe on Saturday as the Crimson Tide seek to bounce back after that loss to the Seminoles.

Despite reports of him actually getting a concussion, this absence from the game just led to fans cooking up some speculations that he may not have been playing his all and may be planning to transfer out of Alabama next season.
“Man he transferring next year 😂” one fan speculated.
“I hope bro doesn’t transfer after this season,” noted another commenter.
“He Falling Off, What 6 Straight Games Without 100+ Yards, He Should Have Never Been A Pre-Season All American!!” another commenter pointed out.
“Honestly, good. No effort, dropping passes, let someone else have a turn,” another person said.
“Is he still trynna get that targeting call? …crazy that was waived off after being called and him having to be walked off,” asked one person.
“It’s cool he still tryna let dat L wear off😂” added another commenter.
It was a defensive win for Florida State as the Seminoles’ defense clamped on tight against Williams, limiting the All-American to just 30 receiving yards. This was just the third time this has happened in his career, though he did have a big 11-yard catch on first-and-10 during the first quarter, which is something the Seminoles defense never let happen again.

Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Gives an Update on Ryan Williams’ Injury Status
It is still unclear if Ryan Williams did not clear the injury protocols or if it is just a precautionary measure on Alabama’s part, given that the Crimson Tide are still the massive favorites coming into the game.
However, on Sept. 3, head coach Kalen DeBoer gave an update on his star quarterback’s condition coming into the game against Louisiana Monroe.
“He’s been on the practice field,” he told reporters. “He’s doing the normal protocol and coming along nicely. That’s probably the best way to explain it.”
Williams reportedly hit his head onto the field after getting hit hard by Seminoles defensive back Earl Little Jr. He did not get up for a long time after that hit and had to be helped off the field.
