The Alabama Crimson Tide continued to roll, demolishing the visiting Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday at Tuscaloosa. One important reason for that bug 30-14 win at home was Ryan Williams, who thrilled fans and proved many doubters wrong with his performance against the then-undefeated Commodores. Williams also had his girlfriend, Alexis Hill, watching from the stands to cheer him on.
Hill shared some snaps with of herself from the stands as she sports a white top with custom Alabama-themed blue jeans with Ryan Williams‘ No. 2 jersey on it, as well as some oversized sunglasses. In her Instagram post, Hill also shared a postgame hug with Williams after his heroics on the field.

Williams led the team with six receptions for 98 yards in that game, and he also scored a touchdown which tied the game to seven apiece. The Alabama defense actually struggled early in the game, so it was the offense that stepped up, shutting out the Commodores in the second half for the win.
After the game, Alabama had shown that they have bounced back from their opening game road loss to Florida State. The Crimson Tide had a massive 24-21 road win at No. 5 Georgia the week before, but there were still plenty of doubts surrounding Ryan Williams and company. This win over Vanderbilt, another ranked team from the SEC, should restore some lost reputation from that FSU loss.
After the win over Vandy, the Crimson Tide went up to No. 8 in the rankings from No. 10. However, their next opponent will also be a ranked team, this time against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Ryan Williams Got Praise From Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer
Ahead of the Vanderbilt game, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer talked about his team during his weekly radio show in Alabama, particularly about Ryan Williams. The wide receiver dropped a pass early in that game against Georgia but bounced back soon enough, earning his coach’s praise soon after.
“He kept his head up. He kept plugging away. He wants that as much as anyone. He didn’t miss it on purpose. His attitude and energy coming back to practice … has been awesome to see,” DeBoer said in his radio show.
He added that the team as a whole has to continue to improve and that they are “only as good as your next game,” which means that they have to step up their game.
