Ryan Williams and the Alabama Crimson Tide are cruising past the Eastern Illinois Panthers today, leading 28-0 at halftime and very much keeping the College Football Playoff aspirations alive, as we fast approach the end of the regular season.
Someone who seems to be enjoying the afternoon is Williams’ girlfriend, Alexis Hill, who took to her Instagram to show her support for the standout wide receiver. In her Instagram story, she posted a picture of herself wearing a customized Ryan Williams t-shirt ahead of today’s game.
Despite her unwavering support on social media for Williams, their relationship remains largely a mystery to the fandom, with little known about her and how they met.
Ryan Williams’s Sophomore Season at Alabama
Ryan Williams’ season at Alabama has arguably been a disappointment. From being one of the top wide receivers in the nation in his true freshman year, with 865 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns, he’s now a productive yet unremarkable wide receiver.
So far this season, Williams has 573 receiving yards, with four touchdowns in 39 receptions. He’s clearly off track to surpass or even match his numbers from last season.
I’d still prefer Ryan Williams in a Bama uniform next year.
But that’s assuming he spends all offseason working his tail off to fix the deficiencies in this game, which it doesn’t seem like he did after his freshman year.

For comparison, his most clear competitor from last season, Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, has 902 receiving yards and 10 touchdown receptions through this point in the season. He’s also off target for his production from last year (1315 receiving yards, with 15 touchdowns), but the numbers are much more consistent than Williams’.
Williams could argue that he missed one game this season against Louisiana-Monroe. That’s indeed a game in which he could’ve had a significant production, but it isn’t enough to account for the difference between his current production and last year’s.
