109 Days Away From ‘The Game’, Ryan Day’s OSU and Sherrone Moore’s Michigan Go Head To Head In Race For 5-Star Prospect Savion Hiter

Will Ryan Day get the top running back in the nation? Five-star recruit Savion Hiter is considered the best running back in the class of 2026. No surprise, then, that Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, and Georgia are all in the running to get his services. The prospect is set to announce his commitment this week, on Tuesday at 11:15 ET.

On3 announced it on Monday, with Hiter replying to the publication with the following tweet:

    “Gods plan 🙏🏾🍿”

In the summer of 2025, Hiter made official visits to Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee. He also has an official offer from the Arizona Wildcats, which he will most likely ignore. He has also made two unofficial visits to Tennessee.

Hiter played high school ball at Louisa County in Mineral, Virginia, where he was also a multi-sport athlete who participated in track and field events. Not only that, but he also played a role in Louisa County’s defense. In 2025, he participated in the Under Armour All-America Game.

Ohio State’s Ryan Day names Julian Sayin as its Week 1 starter against Texas

Ryan Day has made his choice. Julian Sayin will be the Buckeyes’ starter for the 2025 season. Well, at least for the Week 1 encounter against the Texas Longhorns.

Speaking on Monday with the press, Day said the following about his decision:

“It was a close competition. I think with both guys, we feel confident can win a game for us. I think Julian separated himself over the last week with his consistent play. I feel like our guys are confident in both quarterbacks. I think we’ll need both quarterbacks. They both do a lot of great things.”

The Buckeyes spent the better part of the 2025 offseason with a quarterback battle between Lincoln Kienholz and Julian Sayin, with the latter being considered the favorite for the spot from the start.

However, Ryan Day gave Kienholz a fair shot throughout the preseason training camp and only made the decision a couple of weeks before the start of the season.

Sayin is a former five-star recruit who was considered the best quarterback in the class of 2024. He initially joined Alabama, but transferred to the Buckeyes shortly after Nick Saban announced his decision to retire from the sport. Now he faces a tough task in Week 1, leading his team against the No. 1-ranked team in the nation according to the AP poll.
