Liberty S Robert Rahimi Intends to Enter Transfer Portal

After breaking out in 2022, Liberty S Robert Rahimi is set to take to the transfer portal and make his name known nationally.

After a breakout season, Liberty safety Robert Rahimi is headed for a different destination as a graduate transfer in 2023 after stating his intentions to enter the transfer portal. Rahimi, otherwise known as Rocket, intercepted five passes in 2022 and made his name known on the national stage.

Robert Rahimi Enters Transfer Portal

As an ace in the hole for the Flames, Rahimi played all over the field for Liberty. His five interceptions highlighted his defensive prowess, but that was far from his only impact on a weekly basis.

Roaming free as the Flames’ free safety, Rahimi was able to use his tremendous athleticism to make highlight-reel plays the norm during his two years at Liberty. Rahimi displayed terrific instincts, great speed, a knack for finding the ball, and was a great run defender when he got the chance to come downhill.

He also played on nearly every special teams unit during his time in Lynchburg.

In a social media post, Rahimi thanked his family, teammates, and coaches at Liberty, stating they built a bond no one can break.

Entering the portal as a graduate transfer, Rahimi should be a sought-after player due to his all-around ability and veteran leadership skills. But it hasn’t always been that way for the one-time two-star recruit.

Formerly of Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA, Rahimi capped his JUCO experience with a dominant 2019 season that included multiple pass breakups, tackles for loss, and more sound special teams play.

After flashing his ability all over the field in 2021, Rahimi’s perseverance paid off in a big way in 2022. His five interceptions led the team and he finished second among secondary players with 56 total tackles.

A player with Rahimi’s level of selfless play and skill on the back end should be coveted in the transfer portal.
