Rodriguez was in attendance at tonight’s men’s basketball home game against Cincinnati, and he and his staff received recognition on the court during the first half’s under-12 timeout.
Rich Rod delivered a note to the audience, reminding them of this year’s Backyard Brawl.

Rodriguez expressed his gratitude to the West Virginia University community, saying, “My family and I are overwhelmed with gratitude to lead the Mountaineer football program again.”
He underlined his commitment to engage with fans to establish “the best football program in America.”
Reflecting on his 2007 departure, Rodriguez stated, “I made a mistake.” He committed to regain the trust and support of the WVU community, understanding the mixed feelings surrounding his homecoming.
Rodriguez has put together an experienced coaching staff, which includes former WVU standouts Pat White, Noel Devine, and Rasheed Marshall.
During a recent West Virginia basketball game, he introduced his team, saying, “I think I have the greatest football staff in America.”
