Rich Eisen Picks Favorite Colorado Pro Day Moment, Salutes Deion Sanders’ Showmanship

With the 2025 NFL Draft just around the corner, many college football programs are holding their Pro Days to allow NFL scouts to see many players who did or didn’t participate in the NFL Combine last month or could be overlooked.

After its Pro Day on Friday, April 5, Rich Eisen discussed the Colorado Buffaloes Pro Day and his favorite moments on his Over Reaction podcast Monday.

Shedeur Sanders Shines in Rich Eisen’s Favorite Pro Day Moment

After the Buffaloes’ 36-14 loss to the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl, NFL Draft scouts did not see quarterback prospect Shedeur Sanders in action until his pro day on Friday. The expected top-five picks did not play in the East-West Shrine Bowl and worked out at the NFL Combine.

Eisen discussed the take of how Travis Hunter and Sanders will go No. 2 and No. 3 in the NFL Draft and the topic of what his favorite moment from the pro day came up.

Sanders performed with the receivers that he’s used to at Colorado but was able to make an impact in a fun moment with wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr.

“Now, it’s his first time of getting out there, even though he’s in shorts and the routes are being ran by his guys,” Eisen said Monday. “My favorite one was when Jimmy Horn grabbed it, fell down, popped up and basically forward flipped into the endzone.”

Eisen also discussed on his podcast Monday how the Buffaloes coach, Deion Sanders, showed a lot of showmanship during the pro day.

“That was kind of what this showcase was all about,” he said. “I just love Deion’s showmanship, it’s called a showcase guys. So, it’s just different wrapping, different packaging, different marketing.”

This shouldn’t come as a surprise when listening about what the Hall of Fame defensive back now head coach makes himself look like.

    Shedeur’s Performance Helped Him Out

Coming out of the combine last month, Sanders was not giving himself any favors and there was a narrative that he did not care about the meetings with NFL teams looking to draft him later this month.

However, during the showcase, the Cleveland Browns were all over Sanders. According to Eisen, now the standout quarterback could be selected in the top three in the NFL draft.

“Now after the Pro Day, this isn’t out of the possibility,” he said. “Cam Ward goes first, and Shedeur and Hunter go 2, 3.”

Eisen then said that he believes the New York Giants will go after either Hunter or Sanders with their No. 3 overall pick, but the real question is what Cleveland does. It is expected that the “draft starts” at the Browns’ pick at No. 2. If they go with either Hunter or Sanders, the possibility of the two going No. 2 and No. 3 is real.

Regardless, the Giants and Browns have a tremendous opportunity to select potential franchise players at their slots in the 2025 NFL Draft.
