The Owls don’t leave the city of Houston for the first three games of the season, hosting in-city Texas Southern and nearby Sam Houston in the first two outings before heading over to the University of Houston in Week 3.
A trip to Michie Stadium to take on Army headlines their new-look AAC schedule as the Black Knights will play as a football-only member of the American this fall.

Outside of their trek to Army, the Owls will have to travel to take on Tulane, Memphis, and UAB in their conference schedule, and UConn as part of their non-conference opponents.
Navy and USF come to town as does UTSA, in what appears to be the toughest home test on the schedule for Rice in 2024.
