Rex Ryan Rips Shedeur Sanders’ Teammates Amid Browns Debut Against Ravens in Week 11

Shedeur Sanders made his NFL debut during the Cleveland Browns’ showdown against the Baltimore Ravens in week 11.

The ex-Colorado quarterback got a chance to show off his skills as the Browns’ QB1. Dillon Gabriel had to leave the game in the third quarter to get a concussion checked out and was later ruled out by the team.

Sanders went 4-for-16 for 47 yards along with an interception and was sacked twice while finishing the game with a 13.5 passer rating as the Browns faced a 23-16 loss.

Expressing his frustration over Shedeur Sanders’ apparent disconnect with the team, ESPN NFL analyst Rex Ryan said:

“Why is there such a disconnect here?” Ryan asked on Monday on “Get Up.” “Is it the kid’s fault? Is it the organization’s fault? I have no idea, all right. But I am going to say this: the only energy I saw in the entire stadium was when that kid popped on the field.”

“When Shedeur walked on the field, you know who wanted to see him play? The dang fans. And you know who never cared? His teammates. What the hell is going on in Cleveland? What is going on in Cleveland? And so to me, it’s like, are you not giving this kid a chance from day one? Why the hell did you trade him for him in the first place?

Shedeur Sanders Drops Honest Assessment of His Performance Against Ravens

As Shedeur Sanders finally got an opportunity to get on the field for the first time against the Ravens, he shared that he wasn’t impressed with his performance at all.

In a post-game press conference, Sanders told the reporter that he thinks he didn’t play well as the Browns gave him an opportunity, and he feels he couldn’t live up to his expectations.

“I don’t think I played good,” Sanders said. “I don’t think I played good at all. I think there’s a lot of things we need to look at during the week and go and just get comfortable with even throwing routes with Jerry [Jeudy] and throwing routes with all those guys.”

He further added that he is extremely grateful for the opportunity and also said that when Gabriel’s out playing and the fans cheer for the ex-Colorado QB, making Browns QB1 feel less confident and less comfortable, it puts everything in a tough spot, which doesn’t help the team.
