Chris Henry Jr., the son of the late West Virginia Mountaineers and NFL WR Chris, has committed to play college football at Ohio State under head coach Ryan Day.
One of the more tragic stories in the history of football, Henry’s father died from injuries he sustained after falling out of the back of a moving truck. It was later determined that the Cincinnati Bengals WR had CTE, a neurological disease being found in some football players who have sustained repeated head injuries.
Now, his son is on his way to becoming a great football player, and his father would be very proud of him today. How can Chris Jr. continue the Henry legacy?

Henry Jr. is rated as the No. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2026 by ESPN and appears to be ready for the spotlight. As a sophomore at Withrow High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2023, he set the school record for yards (1,127) on 71 receptions and 10 touchdowns.

The 6’5″, 2015-pound pass-catcher decided to commit to playing for Ohio State over USC, Clemson, and Georgia. He will get to stay in his home state for college football, which is something that his father would be very proud of.
It also makes sense that he would sign with the Buckeyes, especially considering the rich, recent history of Buckeyes receivers.
Current offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline has molded some of the best pass-catchers in college football over his tenure in Columbus. Head coach Ryan Day, being one of the best offensive minds in college football, also helps.

Henry will play in many big games in the coming years, and if he can deliver on the hype, he likely has a chance to be a first-round pick.
But in the end, the most important thing is that he makes his father proud, and it seems that he has already done exactly that.
