The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ third preseason game versus the Buffalo Bills turned ugly when undrafted rookie safety Shilo Sanders was ejected for throwing a punch. The son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders landed a punch into the Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson’s helmet during a heated on-field altercation..
The altercation created a sudden division of opinions among fans on social media.
“The swing was diabolical! Dude deserved it but I hate that happened to Shilo! The devil was busy today”, said a fan.
“This is crazy! This should have just been off setting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. SMH”, commented a fan.
“He was taking it but it might cost him a roster spot”, stated a fan.
“Nawlll yall stop acting like yall didn’t see Davidson throw that sneaky hit first!!?!”, said another fan.
“Start shi, point, and play victim”, commented a fan.
“They set him up”, said a fan referring to a conspiracy.

The incident unfolded during what appeared to be a routine play. Davidson threw a hard block on Sanders and continued to clash well after the whistle.
Annoyed by Davidson’s effort to continue the clash, Sanders napped and threw a punch at Davidson’s helmet. The punch hit Davidson squarely in the helmet and resulted in a flurry of flags from the officials and an immediate ejection for the Buccaneers defender.

Bowles Labels Shilo Sanders’ Punch “Inexcusable”
Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles did not shy away from discussing the event at his post-game news conference. Bowles called Shilo’s on-field action “inexcusable”, pointing out that keeping your cool is crucial.
“Well, you can’t throw punches in this league. That’s inexcusable,” Bowles stated.
“They’re going to get you every time. You’ve got to grow from that.”
With the final roster cuts approaching, each practice and preseason game is an opportunity to show the Buccaneers what he is worth.
Sanders was in this preseason actively competing for one of Tampa Bay’s backup safety spots. Now, the punch calls that effort into question, as the Buccaneers will decide on Sanders’ future as far as his place in the 53-man roster is concerned ahead of the new season.
