The Texas Longhorns have a remarkable history of outstanding wide receivers, with many big names writing their names into the history books.

1. Roy Williams (2000-03)
Roy Williams is widely considered the greatest wide receiver in Longhorns history. Williams is the all-time Texas Longhorns leader in career receiving yards (3,866) and receiving touchdowns (36).
He played for the Longhorns from 2000 to 2003 and also made a significant impact as a rusher, recording 243 career rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, as well.
2. Jordan Shipley (2006-09)
Jordan Shipley played for the Longhorns from 2006–2009 and ranks second in Texas Longhorns history in both receiving yards (3,191) and touchdown catches (33).
Shipley recorded an impressive 1,485 receiving yards and 13 touchdown catches in 2009. This remains the greatest single-season receiving performance in Longhorns history to date.
3. Johnny “Lam” Jones (1976-79)
Johnny “Lam” Jones ended his college career with 850 rushing yards, six rushing scores, 1,603 receiving yards, and 14 touchdown catches.
He also ranks 23rd all-time in total touchdowns (20), 16th in receiving yards, and 10th in all-purpose yards with more than 3,000. Jones remains the only Texas wide receiver ever to average over 18 yards per catch while racking up at least 1,500 career receiving yards.
4. Quan Cosby (2005-08)
Quan Cosby had one of the best individual seasons for a wide receiver in Longhorns history when he recorded over 1,100 receiving yards and 10 touchdown catches in 2008. Cosby also registered the fourth-most catches in program history with 212, and the sixth-most receiving yards with 2,598 between 2005–2008.
5. Limas Sweed (2004-07)
Limas Sweed ranked second in program history in single-season touchdown receptions, with 12 in 2006. He also ranks 11th in career receiving yards with 1,915 and fourth in receiving touchdowns with 20.
To round out the accolades, Sweed also holds the program record for most consecutive games with a touchdown catch (seven).
6. Mike Adams (1992-96)
Mike Adams is one of the all-time receiving leaders for the Longhorns. He boasts over 1,000 career punt return yards and over 1,500 career kick return yards to his name, with two punts returned for touchdowns.

He is also one of three Texas wideouts with more than 3,000 career receiving yards. Adams has the third most receiving yards in the Longhorns’ history with 3,032 career, and he is the only Texas wideout ever to average at least 17 yards per catch.
7. B.J. Johnson (2000-03)
Johnson is one of the few wide receivers in Texas Longhorns’ history ever to register at least 500 receiving yards and three touchdown catches in four consecutive seasons. He ended his Longhorns career with 152 catches for 2,389 receiving yards (15.7 yards per catch) and 16 touchdown catches.
