5) Texas Shotgun Split Z Plus – “MTN Alert Swing Buck”
This formation is only found in the Texas playbook and is an insane formation with two running backs plus a receiver in the backfield.
All the plays in this formation utilize auto-motion from one of the running backs, and there are a bunch of cool plays to create a nice scheme around.
On the MTN Alert Swing Buck play, the running back does an auto-motion and operates as a lead blocker for the swing pass to your receiver.
The blocking on this is really good. If you decide not to throw the swing, your quarterback will hand it off to the other running back on a “buck sweep” type of run with a pulling guard.
This play is super fun to use and is simple enough that you only have to decide between two options.
4) Arizona Shotgun Trey Open HB Str – “DIY Direct Snap Reverse”
As if the regular direct snap isn’t good enough, then just add in the DIY Direct Snap Reverse.
It works exactly as it sounds — do it yourself, a direct snap to the running back instead of the quarterback, and it’s a reverse.
So basically, the ball gets snapped directly to the running back, and you, as the user, get to decide if you want to keep it with him or hand it off for the reverse. To hand it off, you just simply press L1 on PlayStation or LB on Xbox.

3) Oregon Shotgun Trips – “Double Pass Rail”
The good news is a lot of playbooks in the game have the “Trips” formation, so this play is pretty accessible no matter what your favorite team is in EA Sports College Football 25.
The play starts out as a behind the line of scrimmage pass to your slot WR, and you have the option of keeping it with him or throwing downfield to your running back on a deep wheel route. If the defense is in zone coverage, this play is absolute money, as the defenders just don’t react too well against either option.
Use this a few times throughout a game to catch the defense sleeping and gain some cheap yardage.
2) Wildcat Unbalanced – “Jet Reverse Pass”
There are a bunch of playbooks in the game with wildcat formations — way too many to type, to be honest.
I really like the unbalanced wildcat formation, as it has so many unique plays. “MTN Zone,” “Jet Sweep,” and “Counter” stand out as a few. When you mix these in with the “Jet Reverse Pass,” it makes a really difficult scheme to defend.
On this specific play, your quarterback is actually lined up out wide. When you hike the ball, the “wildcat” player will hand toss to the quarterback, and then you will be able to throw the ball downfield to either a wheel route or post route.
You can definitely get some big chunk plays out of this. Mix in the run plays first so you catch the defense off guard when you call the reverse pass.
1) Auburn Shotgun Y Trips Offset Wk – “Reverse Flea Flicker”
The holy grail of trick plays for a video game, this play can be found in a few playbooks in EA Sports College Football 25: Auburn, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, and the Multiple alternate playbook.

The play starts by handing the ball to the running back, then he hands it off to the wide receiver, and then, boom, you have the option to throw it down the field to a few different routes. I recommend throwing the post route as it seems he always gets down the field and beats the defense.
This play is absolutely amazing and definitely the best trick play in the game. However, don’t try to be one of those players who runs it all game, as the defense will catch on. Mix this in with other plays in the formation like “MTN HB Swing,” “MTN Pump and Go,” and “Reverse Pass.”
