Raiders Eye Jalen Milroe as ‘Perfect Fit’ Even as Shedeur Sanders Dropped Hints All Season on Social Media

The Las Vegas Raiders are in the market for a quarterback, and there’s some serious buzz around the former Alabama star Jalen Milroe.

Milroe had a solid NFL Combine performance and now could potentially be in some discussion as a day two NFL draft pick. After a rocky senior season with the Alabama Crimson Tide, it was unclear where Milroe would wind up on the NFL team’s big boards, but there is growing buzz about the young signal-caller.

While many teams still have Milroe rated as a Day 3 prospect, one organization is rumored to really like the former Alabama quarterback.

Jalen Milroe Reportedly a ‘Perfect Fit’ for the Las Vegas Raiders

According to a report from the Las Vegas Review Journal’s Vincent Bonsignore, the Raiders heavily pursued Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. However, after the future hall of famer resigned from Los Angeles, the Raiders are now eyeing NFL Draft prospects.

Bonsignore reported that many see Milroe as a “perfect fit” in new Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly’s system.

While former Colorado Buffalo Shedeur Sanders has been heavily linked to the Raiders throughout the draft process, it seems that Sanders’s stock is falling more and more, especially with the reports coming from the Combine that almost every team in the league has Cam Ward ranked higher than Sanders.

If the Raiders decided to use their first-round pick to address another need than quarterback, then Milroe could be in the cards on Day 2.

Milroe would be a great fit in Chip Kelly’s offense, as we’ve long seen what Kelly can do with a mobile quarterback. Kelly’s offense at Ohio State last season really made things easy on the quarterback with a lot of quick reads and passes, which could benefit a prospect like Milroe who lacks high-end processing ability.

Now, I personally don’t think Milroe is worth a day-two pick, but if there was a place where I think he could flourish, it would be under the mentorship of Kelly and new Raiders head coach Pete Carroll.
