College football insider CJ Vogel recently released a clip of Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. The video features Ewers answering questions regarding his time with the legendary Longhorns program and how he wanted to be remembered in Texas. This was something that led to his decision not to transfer to another program.
Earlier in the year, it was reported that Ewers was looking to transfer away from the Longhorns program, as it was heavily rumored that Arch Manning would become the starting quarterback next year. However, Ewers ultimately decided to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft and not represent another college team next season.

Quinn Ewers Recent Comments
Vogel released the video and analyzed it on his X profile.
“#Texas QB Quinn Ewers says he never gave any thought to transferring after his 2024 season ended. Says he wanted to preserve his legacy as a Longhorn. @ontexasfootball,” the post was captioned.

“Yeah, no, it was never a thought for me [transferring from the Longhorns] just because, like I said earlier, I wanted to leave my legacy at Texas, and I didn’t want to disrupt anything that I did at Texas to be flipped or turned in any other way. I just wanted to be remembered in college at Texas,” Ewers stated.
Quinn Ewers Future Outlook
Ewers had a strong campaign for the Longhorns and played a key role in the Texas school advancing to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff last year. On the season, he had 3,472 passing yards, 33 total touchdowns, and 12 interceptions for Texas.
In College Sports Network’s latest 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Ewers was selected No. 126 overall by the Los Angeles Rams.
With the future of starting quarterback Matthew Stafford up in the air, the Rams’ move for Ewers could make sense for both organization and player.

For Ewers, he would be stepping into a team with one of the best head coaches in the NFL, Sean McVay, and an offensive unit featuring superstars in wide receiver Puka Nacua and running back Kyren Wiliams.
While it remains to be seen whether Ewers is picked by the Rams in the upcoming NFL Draft later this April, it is evident that he had no intention of moving to another college program, despite the reports and rumors.
