After the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal, the Michigan Wolverines have not garnered much love from the rest of the college football world. The team has been very unpopular as of late, and even NFL stars like Quinn Ewers, who used to be Texas and Ohio State’s quarterback, have been throwing shade against the team, even though he has long since left arch-rival Ohio State, often calling the Wolverines, “the team up north.”
Ewers’ girlfriend, Maddie Barnes, shares the sentiment. Barnes goes to Oklahoma, even though she is dating former Texas quarterback, and she cheered on her Sooners against the Wolverines, as she shared on her Instagram Stories. She was even wearing Sooners colors and some SEC pins.
“Beat Michigan,” she wrote as support tO Oklahoma Sooners.
The Sooners won the game 24-13 on Saturday, handing the Wolverines their first loss of the season, with the Sooners offense managing to poke holes in that Wolverines defense, though Michigan did give the Sooners a scare in the third quarter after scoring 13 points.
She and Ewers, who now plays for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, officially started dating in 2023. The two have been “star-crossed lovers” of sorts, given the long and historic rivalry between the Sooners and the Longhorns. This did not stop them from hanging out together and even going on vacations with one another.
When Ewers was drafted by the Miami Dolphins earlier this year, she was there to support her boyfriend and cheered him on.

Quinn Ewers GF Madelyn Hangs Out With Friends Ahead of Oklahoma vs. Michigan Game
Madelyn Barnes was not alone in cheering for OU against Michigan, as she was accompanied by several friends ahead of the big game. Barnes is part of the Chi Omega sorority at OU.
“My favorite people ever!!!” she wrote.
While Barnes was still a student at the University of Oklahoma, she also landed herself a social media marketing job. She was a social media coordinator at a med spa in Southlake, Texas where she was an intern.
While Madelyn Barnes was a big OU supporter, she would still support Texas and even wear Quinn Ewers pins as she cheered for her own school’s biggest rival. When she was in high school, she was also a volleyball player and was also a cheerleader.
