During his stint with the Longhorns, Ewers led the team to its first College Football Playoff run in 2023, and they returned to the semifinals the following year. He threw for 9,128 yards and 68 touchdowns.
Despite suffering an oblique strain and a high ankle sprain during his final season, Ewers showed persistence and leadership.
Rumors arose before the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State that Ewers had received multi-million dollar offers to enter the transfer portal. When asked, Ewers refuted the reports as false and confirmed his commitment to Texas.
Ewers chose to declare for the NFL Draft, influenced by his drive to uphold his reputation at Texas while transferring to the professional level.
