Former Texas Longhorns quarterback and Miami Dolphins rookie Quinn Ewers’ girlfriend Madelyne Barnes made her loyalties clear ahead of the Texas vs. Oklahoma game. While Ewers is focused on his NFL career now, Barnes posted a few Instagram stories leading up to the game.
In one of her Instagram stories on Saturday, Barnes showed fans her preparations on gameday for school, as a student at Oklahoma. One photo, along with her friends, had the caption “OU TX BOOMER SOONER,” making her allegiance very clear.
On her top that was patterned in red, white and black, she also had two custom pins. The first was her sorority pin, “ΧΩ Says BEAT TEXAS.” The second pin was more personal and humorous, as it had a photoshopped image of Quinn Ewers in an Oklahoma Sooners hat, that read “I MISS QUINN EWERS TOO.”
Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins selected Quinn Ewers as the 231st pick in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft and he has been in a developmental phase working through the Dolphins QB depth chart ever since.

While the Dolphins aren’t yet looking to start Ewers in any games this year, Ewers might gather meaningful playing time if the Dolphins’ current quarterbacks build a negative resume or are injured.

Oklahoma Enters the Rivalry with Strong Momentum
No. 6 Oklahoma has looked good, however Texas has struggled to meet its categorization as No. 1 at the beginning of the year. With the recent loss to Florida, the Longhorns dropped out of the national rankings sitting at 3-2. The tension is thick in Dallas as this rivalry, their 121st meeting, is paramount for both the teams.

Oklahoma, on the other hand, will have the chance to stamp a foot print in the SEC, where it is 5-2 against Texas in their last seven matchups in this historic rivalry and the Sooners are the favorites coming into this game.
