‘Quinn Ewers Set the Table for Him’ — Analyst Cautions Against Giving Arch Manning All the Glory if Texas Takes the 2025 Natty

Texas may be in for a long season, and it may even lead to a national title with Arch Manning at the helm as the Longhorns’ quarterback. The team is considered one of the favorites to win it all before the season even begins, but analyst RJ Young says the latest Manning family member should not take all the credit should the Longhorns win it all this year.

In a preview video on Texas’ season for his “Adapt & Respond with RJ Young” channel on YouTube, Young noted that it was former Texas QB1 Quinn Ewers who set things up for the Manning family scion to possibly win the national title for the Longhorns.

“If Texas wins the next national championship, right, 2025, I think it’s going to be because Quinn Ewers set the table for him to do it. That I think should be Quinn Ewers legacy if Texas can pay all this off,” RJ Young explained. (5:10)

However, RJ Young did give Arch Manning his props and explained that he was the best quarterback Texas has had yet. While pointing out his stats of the 2024 season, Young praised Manning’s ability to throw the ball deep down the fiel and outrun his opponents.

“And I get it, right? It’s a lot for a guy who hasn’t done much, but glory be, this guy Arch is just different. Best Longhorns quarterback that we’ve seen. since Vince Young,” RJ Young added.

Former Heisman Trophy Winner Thinks Arch Manning Should Have Learned a Lot From Quinn Ewers

Arch Manning is finally getting to start after Quinn Ewers left for the NFL draft, and former Heisman winner Cam Newton said on his “4th & 1 with Cam Newton” podcast on Wednesday that he believes Manning should have learned from Ewers during his time as an understudy.

“Arch will be a fool if he has not learned anything from Quinn Ewers. How he prepared, how he led his team, and how he handled and managed the expectations of being a quarterback at a university like Texas.” (12:10)

Manning will enter the new 2025 season this fall with plenty of hype, as he is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the NCAA. Together with his genetics, he has proven himself during the few times he has taken to the field.
