Projecting the Fastest College Football Players at the 2025 NFL Combine

Find out who could run the fastest 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine, including Arian Smith and Isaiah Bond.

The 40-yard dash is the main event at the NFL Combine. It creates more viral moments than any other drill and is seen as the ultimate feat of athleticism.

Xavier Worthy broke the record at the 2024 NFL Combine, running a 4.21 40-yard dash. Can anyone come close to breaking his record at the 2025 NFL Combine?

Predicting the Fastest 40 Yard Dash Times at the 2025 NFL Combine

    Jimmy Horn Jr., WR, Colorado

An underrated name in the wide receiver class, Jimmy Horn Jr. has showcased incredible speed over his college career that will allow him to contribute on special teams early in his NFL career.

A former track star at Seminole High School, Horn won four medals at the 2021 Florida Class 8A State Track and Field Championships and was a state champion on the 4×100-meter relay team.

That explosive speed should translate to a low 4.3-second 40-yard dash, which could challenge for one of the fastest at the scouting showcase.

    Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas

Isaiah Bond has fallen down draft boards after a mediocre season with the Texas Longhorns. Partly due to not being targetted by Quinn Ewers and partly due to a niggling ankle injury that hampered his effectiveness during the season.

However, Bond was a high school track standout who ran a 10.48-second 100-meter sprint at Buford High School. If the former Alabama Crimson Tide receiver can replicate that speed, he should be able to run under 4.3 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine.

    Arian Smith, WR, Georgia

Arian Smith is expected to run the fastest 40-yard dash time of any player invited to the 2025 NFL Combine.

A multi-sport athlete who also competed in track and field with the Georgia Bulldogs until he opted to focus solely on football in 2023, he qualified for the SEC Championship 100-meter sprint.

An athletic standout in high school, the blazing wideout won state championships in the long jump and won a gold medal at the 2019 Under-20s Pan American Athletics Championships in the 4×100 meter relay.

    Darien Porter, CB, Iowa State

Darien Porter is predicted to run a 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds. The Iowa State Cyclones cornerback clocked 21.26 mph in Senior Bowl practice and is a former high school track standout.

The Iowa native committed to playing football in Ames as a wide receiver before converting to cornerback in 2022, and that intangible speed is expected to translate into explosive numbers in on-field drills at the 2025 NFL Combine.

    Nick Emmanwori, DB, South Carolina

Nick Emmanwori is expected to be among the top overall testers at the 2025 NFL Combine.

A Bruce Feldman’s Freaks List member, the South Carolina Gamecocks safety has reportedly already recorded a 42-inch vertical jump and an 11’4” broad jump and is expected to record a blazing 40-yard dash time.

Already getting first-round hype, Emmanwori is expected to bolt himself into national discussion with a big week in Indianapolis. Expected to measure in around 6’3” and 227 pounds, the Gamecocks defensive back will have scouts obsessing over his athleticism.
