Princely Umanmielen’s NFL Draft Scouting Report

Princely Umanmielen’s collegiate production speaks for itself (17.5 sacks and 26 TFLs over the past two seasons), but it’s his physical attributes and high motor that make Umanmielen an intriguing prospect.

He’s explosive off the snap and has the speed to give opposing offensive tackles fits off the edge. His combination of speed and length gives him significant physical upside to work with at the next level.

Umanmielen could struggle early in his NFL career against the run due to play strength, but he has the flexibility to acquire leverage, and the spatial IQ to thrive in gap pursuit. His best role early on would likely be as a pass-rushing specialist in a base 3-4 scheme.

Even there, he has to improve his power element, but the upside with his length and hyper-elite first-step quickness is truly extraordinary.

    Princely Umanmielen’s NFL Draft Projection

In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Umanmielen landed in Round 2 with the 46th overall pick. James Fragoza has this to say:

Princely Umanmielen has all the God-given gifts coaches dream of—he just needs to harness them into a complete package on the field. His high motor and bend off the edge could mean an exciting future if he refines his technique in Atlanta.

And in CSN’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft for Day 2, Bjorn Bergstrom had this to say about Umanmielen’s selection to the Arizona Cardinals in Round 3 with the 78th pick:

After picking Walter Nolen in Round 1, the Cardinals take his teammate on the edge in Umanmielen. The 6’4″, 255-pounder was extremely successful in 2024, racking up 10.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He’s a speed rusher and could provide Arizona with some youthful pop on the edge.
