First up is Azzi Fudd, a name UConn fans know well. After missing time due to injuries, she came back strong in 2024-2025. Fudd is a sharpshooter with a knack for making plays, averaging 13.3 points per game last season and hitting 44.5% of her three-pointers. Now in her final year, she’s decided to stick around, and that’s huge for the Huskies.
Then there’s Sarah Strong, who burst onto the scene as a freshman last year. She was so good that she finished second in the country in win shares, basically a stat that shows how much she helped the team win, trailing only Bueckers. As a sophomore, Strong’s ready to take center stage.
Serah Williams, who transferred from Wisconsin, is a new face in the lineup. At 6’4”, she’s a game-changer in the frontcourt. Back in 2023-2024, she put up 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game, earning her the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award.
KK Arnold’s been waiting for her moment, and it’s here. After coming off the bench last season, she’s stepping into a starting role as a junior. Arnold’s fast, scrappy, and plays defense like her life depends on it. With more time on the court, she could become one of the top guards in the Big East.
Rounding out the five is Jana El Alfy, a 6’5” center who’s ready to anchor the defense. Last year, she split time with others, but now she’s poised to own the paint. El Alfy’s still growing into her game, but her size and shot-blocking skills are already a problem for opponents.
