Ahead of this week’s game between head coach Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss squad and LSU, it was revealed that the game could have even higher stakes. Lane’s daughter, Landry Kiffin, revealed that she is dating star LSU linebacker Whit Weeks. She made the announcement in an Instagram post on Monday.

With Lane Kiffin’s daughter dating a player on LSU, fans and media members have discussed the added stakes of this SEC matchup. On Saturday, before the game, Dave Portnoy was asked about the new romantic relationship and its impact on the game. He made some interesting comments.
“Absolute non-factor,” Dave Portnoy said. “I said this, Lane Kiffin, would you rather have your daughter dating the star football player linebacker, or a wiggle ****** like TikTok guy? Give me the football player 100%. I thought I wasn’t gonna say that. I have to say it. A little TikTok dance kid who’s an emo kid, or the football player? Give me the football player.”

Lane Kiffin Comments on His Daughter’s New Relationship With Whit Weeks
While many people in the media seem to be pushing the idea that Whit Weeks is dating Lane Kiffin’s daughter could add something to the Ole Miss vs. LSU matchup, that does not seem to be the case. Lane Kiffin spoke this week about his daughter’s announcement and had only good things to say.
“Whit is an awesome kid and comes from a great family,” Lane Kiffin said. “I’m glad those two are happy together. It has nothing to do with the game itself. It’s a really great family.”
Whit Weeks has been a linebacker for the LSU Tigers for three seasons, including this one. Through three games this season, he has registered eight total tackles, including four solo efforts, and 0.5 sacks.

While there are bigger family stakes in this matchup, the true stakes have to do with the SEC standings.
