Looking to make a buck on Boston College? Ready to place a pound — one for the UK-based readers there — on Pitt? If you’re going to take advantage of the Pittsburgh vs. Boston College odds, consider some of the following factors before you part with your hard-earned cash.
For the second week in a row, Pitt comes into the game as a favorite, perhaps a little surprisingly given their 2-8 record and offensive difficulties this season. They do, however, have that win over Louisville in their pocket, and entering the 33rd meeting with Boston College, the Panthers own a 17-15 head-to-head advantage over their ACC foe.
Still, our Pittsburgh vs. Boston College prediction explains why we’re favoring the Eagles in this one. If you think Hafley’s team can get the job done on the road, it’s worth taking them against the three-point spread. The Eagles are 4-2 covering as an underdog this season, while the only game Pitt has covered as a favorite this year was the season opener against FCS Wofford.
Rounding out the Pittsburgh vs. Boston College odds, hear this — but also remember to gamble responsibly — when we say; Hammer. The. Over. Both defenses have had their struggles this season, have combined to allow an average of 56.7 points, and their 20 total games have gone over the points total line 14 times during the 2023 season.
Hammer. The. Over.

There’s just one college football game on Thursday to compile your DFS team from in Week 12. If you’re new to DFS, Fanduel’s one-game contests allow you to select four Flex positions in one-game slates from the quarterback, running backs, wide receivers, and tight end positions. One-game slates give you an MVP that scores 1.5x the points of a normal player.
That seems like a good place to start your Pittsburgh vs. Boston College picks.
Against a defense that has allowed the fourth most rushing touchdowns in the ACC, your MVP should be Boston College dual-threat QB Thomas Castellanos. Remarkably, he ranks third in the conference in rushing yards, fourth in rushing touchdowns, and is the QB3 in the ACC for fantasy purposes.
Adding an Eagles running back is a no-brainer too. Western Kentucky transfer Kye Robichaux has established himself as the bell cow for Boston College, tallying over 20 carries in each of his last three games. He’s turned that into two games over 100 yards, with four touchdowns in the last three games. The result has been 101.3 fantasy points as the RB11 in the ACC.
Boston College’s run defense might encourage you to add a Pitt RB, but with top cornerback Elijah Jones absent, targeting Panthers WR Konata Mumpfield might be a better investment. He’s outscored both Panthers RBs with 82.7 fantasy points. Adding Eagles WR Lewis Bond is a good idea just in case the Panthers are able to contain Castellanos on the ground.
Prediction for Pittsburgh vs. Boston College
Okay, so we’ve furnished you with the Pittsburgh vs. Boston College odds and some DFS picks. Now, it’s time to close this thing out with our prediction. Can Pitt get just their second FBS win of the season as they look to end the season strong? Or will Boston College get back on “The Path” after a slight deviation against Virginia Tech last week?

Pitt grabbed former Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec from the transfer portal in an attempt to get their offense back on track after a down year in 2022. That hasn’t exactly worked out according to plan, with the Panthers ranking plum last in the ACC with 19.9 points per game, and Jurkovec third on the depth chart and working out with the tight ends in practice.
The defense has been better than the offense, with M.J. Devonshire, Dayon Hayes, and Shayne Simon being the headliners, but hasn’t really lived up to Pittsburgh defenses that we’ve become accustomed to in recent years.
They’ve given up 28.2 points per game, and were annihilated by the Syracuse ground game one week ago. The Panthers allowed THREE 100+ yard rushers, including quarterback Garrett Shrader who had been struggling to find his creative form until he faced the Pitt defense.
Do you know who has a potent ground game led by a creative QB? Boston College. As mentioned in the Pittsburgh vs. Boston College picks section, when quarterback Castellanos is healthy he’s been able to run roughshod all over defenses throughout the ACC. No team has run the ball more in the conference.
Despite some defensive deficiencies of their own — the Eagles rank 12th in the ACC for points allowed, 13th for yards per carry, 14th for rushing touchdowns allowed, and are in a four-way tie for passing touchdowns allowed — Boston College’s offensive advantage should ensure they pick up a win against the odds.
Prediction: Boston College 27 – Pittsburgh 23
