    Pinstripe Bowl Opt-Outs And Injury Report: Top Players Not Participating In Penn State vs. Clemson

    Two of the biggest programs that did not make it to the CFP are playing it out at the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday. Both teams, the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Clemson Tigers, are still reeling from disappointing seasons. This includes a big coaching change over at Penn State. Both teams are seeking to at least end their season on the bright side with a bowl game win, but who will be playing and who will be out?

    Both the Nittany Lions and the Tigers are expected to have some key pieces missing due to both injury and players opting out, with several players already declaring either for the NFL draft or the transfer portal.

    Four of the five starting offensive linemen for the Nittany Lions will be missing the Pinstripe Bowl. Of course, James Franklin will not be coaching as he was fired, and it will be interim head coach Terry Smith at the helm. DE Dani Dennis-Sutton, RB Kaytron Allen, WR Trebor Pena and LB Amare Campbell will be potential opt-outs.

    Cade Klubnik has been dealing with injuries but is expected to suit up against the Nittany Lions during the Pinstripe Bowl. However, seven of the team’s top 12 defenders are expected to be out due to opting out or injury.
