Four-star linebacker Terry Wiggins has committed to Penn State as they look to rebuild the defense after Abdul Carter’s draft selection.

Wiggins did take an official visit to Kentucky and has planned to visit both Cincinnati and Syracuse this summer. It is clear home is where the heart is, and following a Junior Day visit in January and a further visit in late April, he has decided he will be staying in-state.
He is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound LB from Coatesville Area High School and earned a four-star reputation from On3 and many others in the industry after excelling as part of a 3-4 defense. Wiggins has shown a variety of skills, playing on the line of scrimmage, off the ball and in the box, as well as being lined up with wide receivers and still managed to match their speed.
As an edge rusher, he has primarily relied on his speed to beat offensive linemen but has the frame to develop his rushing game further. He has also played on offense as a tight end to flex his frame and smooth movement; however, it feels like playing LB is the way forward for him.
On3 has him ranked as the No. 15 LB in the nation and sixth-ranked prospect in Pennsylvania. This has added to a stellar Nittany Lions 2026 class, which possesses five of the top 10 prospects in the state.
Penn State had a stellar 2024 season, finishing with a 13-3 record as they fought all the way to the College Football Playoff Semifinal, where they fell to a heartbreaking 27-24 defeat at the hands of Notre Dame.
In 2025, they will be hoping to go one step further and make the National Championship game, but it will be difficult with five players being drafted into the NFL, including star EDGE Abdul Carter (No. 3 to the New York Giants) and TE Tyler Warren (No. 14 to the Indianapolis Colts).
Home games against the Oregon Ducks and Indiana Hoosiers stand out, along with a tough road trip to the National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes. The Big Ten is always tough to call, but head coach James Franklin will be looking to improve on their third-place finish in 2024 and leapfrog the Hoosiers and Ducks.

For Wiggins, he will be focusing on the upcoming season at Coatesville Area and will be looking to continue adding to his catalog of skills. Getting the four-star recruit committed this soon is great news for Penn State, and they won’t be done just yet.
