James Franklin’s Penn State resurges in the third quarter against UCLA

Currently, the game between the Bruins and Nittany Lions is 33-21 near the end of the third quarter. Although UCLA managed to expand its lead by seven points, with a one-yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Nico Iamaleava, most of the quarter was dominated by Penn State.

Things started looking down in the second half for Penn State with a fumble, after quarterback Drew Allar completed a 17-yard pass to Luke Reynolds. Immediately after catching the ball, Reynolds had the ball smacked from his hands by UCLA’s defense.

Then, in the next drive, UCLA failed to convert a 56-yard field goal attempt. Following that, in a five-play drive, the Nittany Lions scored their second touchdown of the game in a 40-yard pass from Allar to Khalil Dinkins. In the next drive, they bottled up UCLA near their end zone and managed to deflect the Bruins’ punt and returned it for a touchdown.

UCLA might be on top, but there’s still a game to play in Los Angeles.
